Dr. Corey Smigiel was born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania, where he graduated from the University of Scranton with a BS in Biochemistry. Dr. Smigiel received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with Honors in Clinical Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr. Smigiel completed  Residency at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center.

Amidst Dr. Smigiel’s journey to becoming a dentist, he discovered that his passion for dental medicine is often ignited by the unique interactions he has with his patients. For Dr. Smigiel, dentistry is more than preventing, managing, and curing disease -- it is about forming intimate relationships and cultivating the most comfortable, safe, and inclusive environment for his patients.

During his training, Dr. Smigiel had the opportunity to work with various specialists in the comprehensive treatment of medically complex and  underserved patients. While at the Philadelphia VA, Dr. Smigiel further advanced his experiences with placing fillings and crowns, root canals, dental implants, dentures, and extractions.

Dr. Smigiel holds current memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. When he is out of the office, Dr. Smigiel enjoys spending time with his family and friends, doing yoga/work out classes, hiking, and cooking new meals.

  • "I have always had a fear of the dentist and put off going for too long. Dr. Mita and his staff made me feel very comfortable in my first visit to the office. They addressed my needs and didn't try to push unnecessary work on me like my previous dentist. I scheduled an appointment for a filling replacement which went better than expected. It's good to know I have a new dentist that I am not dreading to go see. I highly recommend him!"
    Ben W.

  • "Not all dentists are created equal and Dr. Mita by far, shines above the rest! For over 15 years he has taken care of me and my husband's various dental needs. He and his staff are very courteous, and competent. And, Dr. Mita is an artist when it comes to reconstructive needs. We wouldn’t think of going to anyone else."

  • "The staff was warm and welcoming. I was nervous as I've been going to the same dentist for the entirety of my life and this was my first time going somewhere new; but the staff made me feel at home. I also really appreciated them taking the time to explain things rather than just say a bunch of words most people wouldn't understand. I felt confident that I knew where my oral health stood upon leaving. I definitely recommend Dr Mita's Office to anyone looking for a dentist in the Philadelphia area."
